Data Engineer
Responsibilities

We are searching for a meticulous and experienced Data Engineer to join our talented team. Your central responsibility as the Data Engineer will be to develop, optimize and oversee our company's conceptual and logical data systems. Your duties will include creating and maintaining data ingestion systems along with monitoring to ensure high-quality data integrity.

To succeed in this role, you should know how to examine data systems primarily built using Microsoft technologies and identify opportunities to create or alter existing systems for increased reliability. The ideal candidate will also have proven experience in data analysis and management, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

What You'll Do:

  • You will help build and operate the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL integration services and AWS technologies to create a reliable and streamlined data ingestion pipeline
  • You will Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, designing infrastructure for greater resiliency
  • You will design, build, document, and maintain services for end-to-end data security and data governance: managing access controls across multiple storage and access layers, tracking data quality, audit usage and monitor for invalid data
  • You will define, create, and automate data-integrity-testing tools and metrics
  • You will collaborate with, mentor, and guide your team of software engineers and SQL developers to ensure optimal solution delivery and knowledge sharing
Qualifications
  • Advanced working knowledge with TSQL and Microsoft SQL Server 2016+
  • Familiarity with customer-facing web-based applications designed to deliver the data that you manage
  • Comfortable designing, creating, automating, and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server Integration Packages (SSIS)
  • Self-directed, requiring minimal supervision with the ability to think holistically around engineering challenges
  • Experience working within AWS infrastructure to use and manage Windows servers hosting SQL servers in cluster configuration
  • Proven experience building and optimizing complex data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
  • General familiarity with Windows networking and folder security

Screening Criteria:

  • MUST HAVE STABLE EMPLOYMENT HISTORY.
  • 5 years exp in TSQL and Microsoft SQL Server 2016+
  • 5 years exp in Microsoft SQL Server Integration Packages (SSIS)
  • 2-year exp in AWS infrastructure to use and manage Windows servers hosting SQL servers in cluster configuration
